Tania "TJ" Jenkins - Producer & Film Fixer

Tania Jenkins, widely known as “TJ,” is a veteran Producer and Production Fixer renowned for her meticulous planning, logistical expertise, and ability to make complex productions succeed in remote and challenging environments. Born in Milan, Italy, and educated at Greenside High in Johannesburg and San Souci Girls’ High School in Cape Town, she studied Communications, Public Relations and Marketing at Damelin College before entering the film industry in 1986. Her hands-on, detail-driven approach ensures that crews remain safe, efficient and productive, even in the most unpredictable settings.
Within a year of entering the industry, Tania was promoted to Production Manager on the landmark 36-part South African drama Agter Elke Man for the S.A.B.C., quickly gaining recognition for her organisational acumen. She went on to manage the TV series Rosie and The Game, before moving into international feature films as Production Manager and then Line Producer on titles including Taxi to Soweto, Kampus, The Revenger, Laser Mission and To the Death.
At the age of 26, Tania was Line Producer on the international feature Sarafina!, starring Whoopi Goldberg — a large-scale co-production between VideoVision, the BBC and Les Films Ariane that demonstrated her ability to manage complex international productions with skill, grit and grace.
In 1992, Tania joined M-Net as International Co-Productions Executive, serving as Executive Producer on their New Directions drama strand and on the award-winning wildlife docu-drama Shingalana — The Little Hunter, co-produced with Londolozi Productions. In this role she oversaw international co-productions from evaluation through to budgeting, scheduling and legal agreements, gaining deep practical insight into the mechanics of international production partnerships.
By 1994 she had become General Manager of Londolozi Film Productions, Executive Producing acclaimed wildlife documentaries including Super Hunts, Hyena — The Great Opportunist and Savannah Cats. She then freelanced as Production Advisor to Peter Gallo of NU-Metro/GTV, before resuming her M-Net association in 1996 to Line Produce Stray Bullet, The Apology and Stimulation, and Production Managing the African shoot of In the Wild — Cheetahs with Holly Hunter for Tigress Productions.
Later that year, Tania co-founded AfriScreen Films with cinematographer Mike Holding. Over the 28 years since, she has served as Producer on every AfriScreen production and personally supervises all production facilitation for the company’s international clients — the personal touch and attention to detail that has come to define AfriScreen’s reputation for reliability, creative collaboration and operational excellence.
Today, Tania continues to wear multiple hats: Producer for AfriScreen, and a highly sought-after Fixer for international crews filming across Africa. Her portfolio ranges from wildlife documentaries and commercials to high-end television productions such as the BBC’s Top Gear and CBS’s The Amazing Race — navigating bureaucracy, terrain and tight schedules with equal ease. Her most recent screen credit is Associate Producer on Disneynature’s feature film Elephant (narrated by the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle) and its companion film In the Footsteps of Elephant.
Tania’s enduring success rests on her unrelenting attention to detail, clear communication and ability to find practical solutions in complex situations — work that continues to define standards for production quality and professionalism across the African continent.
